Located in Historic Downtown Whitesburg, The Thirsty Heifer is a proud partner in the Downtown Renaissance Initiative.
Known as a historic Jenkins Landmark, The Cavalier Drugstore and Cafe provides breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday through Friday. Having first opened it's doors in 1945, the cafe still uses the same tables and chairs today as it did nearly 90 years ago.
It's even decorated with the same pictures on the wall.
A step back in time, the cafe offers guests a unique experience with Cherry Coke from a fountain and hand-dipped milkshakes.

This unique restaurant was named after the 5th congressional district, because of the owners' family ties to coal production in the region. As a part of this restaurant's mission to give back to the community they love, The 5th District uses produce primarily grown by local, Letcher County farmers.
