Eating at the the Heritage Kitchen, guests feel like their home sitting around the kitchen table. The attentive service and friendly hospitality, make the tastes of their homemade cuisine that much sweeter. Among some of the menu favorites are their apple cobbler, soups, large wraps and pasta salad. Kentucky Proud, the Heritage Kitchen strives to provide as much locally grown, fresh produce as possible.
Doghead Dough is a fabulous little pizza restaurant with numerous specialty pizzas, bakery items, and coffee. The atmosphere is pleasant, laid back and enjoyable kind of like an evening in Italy. Doghead is located in the historic Dawahares building, and the beautiful decor is sure to amaze.
Known as a historic Jenkins Landmark, The Cavalier Drugstore and Cafe provides breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday through Friday. Having first opened it's doors in 1945, the cafe still uses the same tables and chairs today as it did nearly 90 years ago.
It's even decorated with the same pictures on the wall.
A step back in time, the cafe offers guests a unique experience with Cherry Coke from a fountain and hand-dipped milkshakes.
Everything on their menu is considered a fan-favorite, but first-time visitors should definitely try "The Butch Boggs Big Breakfast," "Joe Eddie's Famous Chili," or "The Creech Burger", all named after locals who made a big impact on their small town.
